FIELD: wood-working industry. SUBSTANCE: in contrast to known method including barking and crosscutting of raw materials into cut logs, hydrothermal processing of cut logs, centering and cylindering with reception of cut log of wood particles out of peripheral zone, according to this method the centering and cylindering of cut log are fulfilled before hydrothermal processing at simultaneous reception of technological chips, cylindering is carried out along the whole length of cut log. Rational utilization of wood raw material results from reception of technological chips and cylindered cut log having the shape of regular cylinder which allows to determine rather exactly its optimal pilot axis which results in increasing the volume of veneer sheet yield. Besides, cylindering before hydrothermal processing of cut logs decreases duration of wood warming up (due to decreased diameter of veneer raw material after cylindering). Volume of charged wood (cut logs) in warming-up section increases. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of producing rotary-cut veneer and technological chips.
