FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of veneer stock for production of sliced veneer and process shavings. Proposed device to transfer cylinder 1 from processing line to conveyor 2 comprises two parallel V-shape prisms 16. Said prisms are connected by crossbar to make receiver 3 with two hydraulic cylinders 11. Proposed manipulator is equipped with guide plate 18 with guide wheels 17. Said receiver is hinged on both sides to "П"-like spaced apart levers of rotary posts. One rotary post is hinged onto carcass crossbar 7 to rest on two support tubes 9. Other moving posts of two "П"-like levers are directed outward from cylinder receiver and provided with hinge joints. Rotary posts of two "П"-like levers are hinged with hydraulic cylinder rod 10. Two guide wheels are arranged under hinge on said moving posts of "П"-like levers. Said guide wheels displace in appropriated ledges on guide plate. Guide plate ledges make obtuse angle β rounded along design radius R. Two stops 19 are arranged under crossbar of V-shape prisms, on their edges. Said stops are directed toward round wood block machining.
