FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to woodworking industry, particularly to production of peeled veneer and technological chips. Proposed method comprises trimming fed logs into preset-length round wood blocks, butt-end reduction of the latter over their entire length to produce cylinders and wood particles from peripheral zone and hydrothermal processing. Round wood blocks are trimmed on turning them through 360° around revolving milling cutter to produce maximum-volume cylinder and wood particles with bark elements from peripheral zone extending beyond maximum-volume cylinder.
EFFECT: maximum yield of veneer, reduced process losses and higher efficiency.
