MIXTURE TO PRODUCE SYNTHETIC LIME-FERRIFERROUS SLAG AND PROCESS OF ITS PREPARATION Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for production of synthetic lime-ferriferrous slag without additional expenditures for comminution of lime-carrying part of mixture having low degree of assimilation of harmful impurities of fuel without external supply of heat from waste of metallurgy. Mixture includes per cent by mass: lime dust from waste of lime production 50-70; coke dust from plants of dry quenching of coke 7-9, converter slag or scale being the balance. Preparation process involves mixing of slag-forming components of mixture with particles of 28 mesh, wetting of mixture, granulation of mixture to granule size 0.5-1.27 cm in diameter, rolling of coke dust during granulation on surface of granules of mixture, drying at 0-100 C, thermal treatment by burning of coke dust under mode of self-propagating burning in stream of air up to melting and homogenization of mixture.
