FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: process provides for preparation of contact surfaces of alyers of steel and aluminium alloy, their joint rolling together with interlayer of pure aluminium without deformation of steel layer and subsequent thermal treatment at 250-550 C for the course of 0.01-2.0 h. Thermal treatment can be conducted at 250-450 C for the course of 0.1-2.0 h which improves tensile strength. Thermal treatment at 450-550 C for the course of 0.01-0.1 h makes it possible to enhance separation strength. EFFECT: enhanced operational properties of bimetals. 4 cl, 1 tbl
