FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method involves the following: grinding of contact surfaces of workpieces from steel and aluminium by a mechanical method, preliminary cladding of an aluminium alloy with a layer of technically pure aluminium, heating of an aluminium workpiece to a temperature equal to 0.65-0.75 of aluminium fusion temperature, assembly of a pack consisting of cold steel and heated aluminium workpieces, joint rolling of the pack per the pass with swaging of 65-70% and further heat treatment, which differs by the fact that the workpieces from the aluminium alloy and low-alloyed steel are used with the ratio of yield points of 0.3 to 0.7 and the ratio of thicknesses of 0.5 to 4.0 respectively, an interlayer from technically pure aluminium, which is arranged between the layers, is taken with the thickness of 2.0-8.0% of the thickness of the aluminium workpiece; prior to the assembly of the pack, the contact surface of the steel workpiece is subject to plastic working with the formation of a surface metal layer having a grain with the size that is by 5-10 times smaller than the initial one to the depth equal to 0.05-0.1% of the thickness of the intermediate layer.
EFFECT: creation of a composite having a higher level of adhesion strength of bimetal layers and a higher level of fatigue strength.
