ELASTIC CENTRIFUGALLY COOLED ROLLER OF ROLLER TABLE OF REDUCTION MILL Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: machine engineering industry, ferrous metallurgy, namely making and servicing of reduction mills. SUBSTANCE: a builtup roller has a hollow barrel 1 with a central bore, whose diameter is no less, than a half-diameter of the barrel, and with cone 3 and cylindrical 4 bores on ends of the barrel. Elastic semiaxles 5,5, whose heads have radial and lengthwise grooves, forming radial 9 and lengthwise 10 openings of the roller, are mounted in a cavity. Water, being fed through a tube to an end of the central opening of the roller, at its reverse flowing cools the semiaxles from inside. A significant part of that water collects in the central cavity, from which water by action of a centrifugal effort upon rotation of the roller is being fed through the openings 9,10 on a surface of cone bores 3, cooling surfaces of cylindrical and cone bores on the ends of the barrel. Then water with the aid of casings 11 is being directed for cooling the semiaxles from outside. Such structure provides such feed of water to the elastic roller, that the cooling water is maximally approached (according to strength conditions of the roller) towards the surface of the barrel, had been heated by hot ingots, for high-degree cooling of it along its whole length. The semiaxles 5,6 are being cooled from inside and from outside. EFFECT: enhanced structure of the roller, increased time period of its working life due to high quality cooling of the roller. 2 cl, 2 dwg
