DEVICE FOR EXCITATION OF OSCILLATIONS DRIVEN BY MOVING OBJECT Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: excitation of oscillations of brake cables of vertical mine hoists. SUBSTANCE: striking mechanism includes spring-loaded striker with pin and trigger consisting of rotary cam which is rotated by object moving along member being excited. Frame of device secured on object is formed by two fixed cross-pieces connected by means of studs and movable cross-piece mounted on studs. Movable cross-piece carries housing with striker and roller rolling over member being excited. Roller is provided with rotating axle on which cam is secured. Roller is pressed to member at all times by means of tension springs located between fixed and movable cross-pieces. Trigger mechanism includes double-arm lever whose end is engageable with striker and second end carries roller engageable with cam. Lever is fitted on revolving axle connected with housing by means of return spring. Device requires no drive; it may be mounted in restricted space between moving object and member to be excited.
