FIELD: production of high-temperature materials based on carbides of refractory metals. SUBSTANCE: composition material based on carbides of zirconium, niobium or tantalum or their solid solutions, contains graphite in form of ball-shaped particles 1-3 mcm in diameter in the amount of 1-3 mas. %. Uniformly distributed porosity amounts to 1-6%, and grain size of carbide matrix is 10-30 mcm. Material features the bending strength up to 570 MPa and may be used in manufacture of such high-temperature products as, for instance, fire tubes and combustion chambers of jet engines, heat liberating members of nuclear reactors cooled with gases, etc. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
