FIELD: refractory materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention, which relates to refractory materials for manufacturing tools intended for use in pressure treatment, cutting, abrasive treatment and preserving their refractory capacity at 2300оС, provides silicon carbide-based refractory material containing following components, vol.% (taking no account pore volume): W5Si3 and/or (Mo,W)3Si3, and/or (Mo,W)5Si3C, and/or Mo5Si3C 2-14.9; WSi2 and/or (Mo,W)Si2, and/or (Mo,W)Si2 and MoSi2 0-10; and silicon carbide 75.1-98, provided that, in the total weight of silicides-forming refractory metals, Mo/W weight ratio is (0-97):(3-100). Material may further contain rhenium, free carbon in the form of graphite and/or carbon fibers, and/or carbon cloth and at least one efficiently oxygen-binding element.
EFFECT: increased mechanical strength, heat and abrasive resistance.
