FIELD: sorption methods for decontaminating radioactive and toxic solutions. SUBSTANCE: method involves absorption of contaminants by means of sorbent in the form of crushed iron-manganine nodules subjected to heat treatment at 750-850 C. Thermally treated sorbent acquires magnetic properties. Spent sorbent is separated from solution by magnetic field action. Best degree of decontamination is attained by using sorbent crushed to size of 0.1-3.0 mm and thermally treated for at least 0.5 h. EFFECT: improved decontamination efficiency. 3 cl, 4 tbl
