FIELD: protective devices. SUBSTANCE: protective device has casing made of filter material which covers igniter before beginning of ignition and protects its surface against dirt and particles of soft oil. Method of operation of protective device consists in burning hydrogen in gas mixture. After ignition, combustible components of filter material are burnt together with particles of soft oil absorbed by it. Settling of particles of soft oil on igniter during period of time between first ignition and subsequent catalytic burning is avoided due to convection caused by its residual heat.
