FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: device depends for its operation on using chemical agents which enter in reaction or disintegrate upon occurrence of accident and in the process emit inactivating gas or gas mixture upon heating to definite reaction temperature. Device is most suitable for operation in conjunction with catalytic recombiners to remove hydrogen due to oxidation by means of available oxygen. Heat emitted during this exothermic recombination can be used for heating such chemicals to desired temperature whose reaction temperature (about 100 C) is higher than temperature occurring in containment in case of accident. This prevents generation of explosive hydrogen- oxygen mixture within containment. EFFECT: improved reliability of passive inactivation of atmosphere within containment. 14 cl, 9 dwg
