FIELD: mining industry, metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: enhanced selectivity in separation and enhanced quality of its products, expanded size range of separated material and implication into enriching process of additional volumes of materials are achieved by choosing in spectrum of secondary radiation an area corresponding to the characteristic radiation of control member and used for calculating analytical parameter. Method excludes influence of constructive background and measurement inaccuracies caused by it. Method can be used for automatic radiometric by-piece separation of tailings of metallurgic industry, mining materials and metal scrap.
