FIELD: automotive industry; front-wheel drive passenger cars, light and medium trucks, minitractors, road building machines. SUBSTANCE: located on differential housing are two gears engaging with gears installed on gearbox drive shaft and tubular mainshaft. Gears are fitted for sliding on drive shaft and mainshaft. Thirteen gears in offered transmission are arranged in six rows and provide eight forward speeds instead of four speeds and four reverse speeds instead of one speed as in prototype vehicle. In higher, most frequently used gears, high efficiency is provided owing to direct transmission of torque from drive shaft to final drive.
