FIELD: building industry. SUBSTANCE: raw mixture has, mas. p.: caustic magnesite 1-1.5; wood saw-dust 2.8-3.3; magnesium chloride mother liquid of carnallite production at density 1.2-1.25 g/cm3 1.4-1.9; kaolin 0.04-0.08; polyorganosiloxane 0.01-0.03; blue ultramarine 0.03-0.07. Method of xylolith block making involves preliminary mixing kaolin with wood saw-dust, treatment with polyorganosiloxane, caustic magnesite addition followed by mixing with magnesium chloride solution and addition of blue ultramarine to it. Then blocks were formed, dried their and by alternating and soaking processes block weight is decreased by 22-23% of initial weight and salt content - up to 72-75% of their initial level. Obtained blocks exhibit limit strength at removing 38-45 MPa, compression strength after 48 hr cold exposition - 49.4-67.5 MPa, water resistance coefficient - 1.3-1.5.
