SUBSTANCE: plant includes consumable electrode made of graphite with inner thread on both ends for connection through nipple and outer single-start thread along its whole length with predetermined stroke. Upon connection of the electrode with an electrode to be extended start of outer thread of upper end of electrode in place of butt coincides with start of outer thread of electrode to be extended. Electrode holder insulated from overlapping zone is in the form of metallic head whose inner thread coincides with outer thread of electrode. Apparatus for moving electrode is in the form of pair of counternuts joined by threaded connection with electrode through its outer thread. EFFECT: enhanced structure of plant.
