FIELD: electric metallurgy; chemical electrothermics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electric metallurgy and chemical electrothermics, where electric arc furnaces are used for the smelting of ferrous alloys, carbide and refractory materials. An electric contact device for an ore-thermal electric arc furnace with a graphite electrode is proposed, including a contact node connected by a water-cooled copper current supply to an external power source and to the electrode. The contact node is made in the form of a removable metal nipple with a base mated with a threaded connection to the electrode. The water-cooled current supply is installed on the shank of the nipple and fixed with a pressure nut. In the upper part of the nipple, two mutually perpendicular gas supply holes are located horizontally and along the vertical axis. The electrode has an axial hole coaxial to the vertical hole of the nipple.
EFFECT: technical result is that a simple device is proposed, consisting of a metal nipple screwed into the nipple socket of a graphite electrode and pressed to it by a nut of a water-cooled copper current supply.
