FIELD: forging production in machine engineering, namely, manufacture of impressions of dies by electroslag casting process. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes water cooled crystallizer in the form of housing having complex-shape stool corresponding to die impression. Trough for pouring metal and slag is mounted on refractory wall of housing. At each side stool is provided with nipples for water inlet alternating with nipples for water outlet. Stool is in the form of two equally spaced one from another bent sheets with parallel bridges between them. bridges restrict cooling ducts normal relative to wall supporting pouring trough. EFFECT: lowered consumption of high-cost die steels, energy and time saving at manufacturing and repairing impressions of die sets. 2 dwg
