SUBSTANCE: plant comprises process equipment for a consumable electrode and a shaped bar, at least one carriage with process equipment fixed on it, being arranged as capable of displacement along a guide of a pillar, on the upper part of which there are fixed blocks, through which a flexible link is thrown being connected with the carriage, stretching via the movable blocks connected to a balancing device. At the same time it is equipped with at least one screw installed in parallel to the pillar guide and a nut to form screw gear with it and connected with the specified carriage, and the balancing device is made in the form of a hydraulic cylinder, the upper support of which is connected with the movable blocks, and the lower one is fixed relative to the pillar.

EFFECT: smoothness and accuracy of electrode and crystalliser movement, high reliability of operation and control of a plant and safety of its operation in implementation of various circuits of electroslag melting, especially for large-size bars and blanks.
