FIELD: automotive industry; electric starters for internal combustion engines of road vehicles and agricultural machines. SUBSTANCE: device has power source 1, electric starter 2 with power and command terminals, 3 and 4, respectively, switch 5, voltage converter 6, capacitor bank 8 starter current sensor 9, discharge unit 11 made in form of electronic switch 12, diode 13 and choke 14. Novelty in design of electric starter is use of enabling pulse generator 18 with enable input 19 and inhibit input 20, feedback circuit 21 with current input 22 and voltage input 23, starter voltage sensor 24 and discharge unit furnished with smoothing capacitor 15. Power terminal 3 of electric starter is connected with command terminal 4 which simplifies starter connection circuit and prevents loading of power source by command circuit current. To save energy of power source and keep device in constant ready-for-operation state, voltage converter 6 is furnished with control input 7, and charging voltage sensor 16 is connected in parallel with capacitor bank 8. Information output 17 of charging voltage sensor 16 is connected to control input 7 of converter 6. Connected in series with power source 1 is common switch 26 which prevents discharge of power source in case of long periods of idling. Invention makes is possible to replace lead-acid starter storage batteries by alkaline storage batteries without considerable modification of electric circuit.
