FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: system has battery 1, voltage converter 3, capacitor battery 4, electric starter 14, and armature 15 whose cap-like housing is rigidly secured to crankshaft 16 of internal combustion engine. Inside the housing of armature 15 are end face collector 13 and spring-loaded brush holder 10 with winding 9 mounted for permitting longitudinal movement. In starting an engine power is supplied from capacitor battery 4 to winding 9 inducing the magnetic force in the core of the winding that moves the brush holder until brushes 12 abut collector bars 13. In so doing, the circuit for power supply to the armature winding is closed and the starter begins to operate. After discharging capacitor battery 4 electric circuit for supplying power to winding 9 is opened, brush holder 10 is brought away from collector 13 under the action of reverse springs 11, and starter is disconnected.
