FIELD: operation of external dacryocystorhinostomy. SUBSTANCE: the device uses a trepan with a cutting member, central fixation rod and a movable protective coupling, the latter is made in the form of a ring, 3 mm wide and 1 mm thick. Besides, the device is furnished with an assembly for moving and fixing the movable protective coupling, made in the form of three plates installed concentrically on the inner surface of the trepan at an equal distance from one another, attached to the coupling by means of rivets and arranged in three slots of the trepan side walls; the plate portions projecting from the trepan cavity are combined by a sleeve terminating in a collet.
