FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: parts are polished with a polishing tool made of a rubber-like material provided with a polishing material. There are tubs on the working surface of the tool. The height of the tabs exceed their thickness by a factor of 1.5-5. The tubs are extruded in the working surface after hot treatment by moving a shaping tool embedded into the working surface over a spiral. After wearing out the tabs they are shaped repeatedly until the tool is worn out completely. EFFECT: simplified method.
