SUBSTANCE: blast furnace charge is added with low-alkaline pellets in amount of 30 - 70 % of iron ore components mass, fluxed sinter cake and alkaline-earth metals carbonates in the form of limestone. dolomite or their mixtures. Amount of alkaline-earth metals carbonates depends upon share of low-alkaline pellets. As their share is 30 % amount of carbonated is 20 - 30 kg/t of pig-iron. As pellets amount is increasing by each 10 %, consumption of carbonates is increasing by 10 -12 kg/t of pig-iron. Required alkalinity of blast-furnace slag is achieved by choice of sinter cake alkalinity, that is calculated on the base of charge composition and number of its components.
