FIELD: detection technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analysis of materials by radiation methods by measurements of secondary emission with the aid of neutrons and irradiation of sample with X rays. Controlled objects are first irradiated with X-ray radiation, sections with density of inorganic and organic materials higher than established threshold are found and geometrical shape of sections with density of inorganic materials higher than threshold value is determined. After this sections with density of organic materials higher than established threshold are exposed to flux of thermal neutrons. Presence of weapons and explosives is established with the help of informative parameters in which capacity there are used value of attenuation of X-ray radiation by objects depending on atomic number of material of their sections and length of wave of X-ray radiation. Geometrical shape of sections with density of inorganic material higher than established threshold and intensity of secondary gamma radiation of sections with density of organic materials above threshold value are found with the aid of flux of thermal neutrons.
