FIELD: devices for detecting explosives. SUBSTANCE: operation of the device is based upon detecting availability of nitrogen which is practically integral part of all the explosives according to indicated gamma-radiation with energy of 10,8 MeV which is generated under influence of thermal neutrons. Device has thermal neutrons radiator and units for detecting gamma-radiation disposed in opposite its radiating surface. Radiation protection is made in form of units. Thermal neutrons radiator is made in form of a unit which is mounted below of level of the floor in examination room as well as units for detecting gamma radiation. Transportation means is made in form of a container which moves in vertical trunk. Container has cap and bottom made of materials which absorb radiation in inner side and of materials which reflect neutrons in the outer side. EFFECT: improved precision. 2 cl, 5 dwg
