FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method is meant for determination of concentration of gas in atmosphere with varying gas composition. In compliance with method semiconductor gas sensor in placed into gaseous atmosphere and heated. Heated catalytic body active with reference to measured gas is inserted into gaseous atmosphere. Change of electric conduct of sensitive element of semiconductor gas sensor is determined in presence of heated catalytic body. Heating of catalytic body may be conducted periodically. In this case amplitude of variable component of electric conductance is measured. EFFECT: improved authenticity of method. 3 cl, 2 dwg
