FIELD: measuring electromagnetic and particle radiation. SUBSTANCE: device uses piezoelectric resonators which are based on surface acoustic waves for detection of radiation. Shift of resonant frequency of piezoelectric resonators is determined by radiation dose. Concrete type of resonator and, respectively, source resonant frequency determine thickness of layer that is sensitive to radiation. Method provides possibility to detect dose that has been acquired by surface layers of objects exposed to radiation, vary thickness of surface layer, detect short- time radiation pulses.
