FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out two-stage procedure of scanning lungs with linear transducer moving from the superior divisions of lungs to the inferior ones, from paravertebral lines to the axial ones, from the axial ones to the parasternal ones, keeping the angle between the tangential line drawn to the surface of the gated part of the lung and ultrasonic signal direction vector to be equal to 90 deg. The second stage of scanning involves placing the transducer so, that an angle of 45 deg is formed between the upper edge of the rib surface adjacent to the transducer and ultrasonic signal direction vector. Then, scanning movement is performed, during which transducer working surface makes a circular movement relative to its longitudinal axis and assumes position at 45 deg with respect to the lower edge of the above-lying rib surface. The norm is evaluated from penetrating power of ultrasonic signals and image intensity value to be within the limits of 4.5 and 6.5 cm . EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in detecting pulmonary tissue edema.
