METHOD OF OBTAINING OF ULTRASOUND IMAGE OF MAIN LUNG VESSELS AT ATELECTASIS OF LUNG SUPERIOR LOBE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; ultrasound diagnosis. SUBSTANCE: ultrasound sensor made as part of cylinder limited on sides with two planes is placed in intercost all positions 1-3 along parasternal line. At first side surfaces of sensor are positioned in parallel to ribs and then, perpendicularly to them. Axle normal to working surface of sensor is installed at right angles with skin surface. Examination is carried out in positions "lying on side opposite to lesion", "lying on back", and "sitting with face towards examine". Rectilinear-rotary scanning is performed by means of sensor at angle of sensor turn relative to setting axle equal to 30 deg. and rectilinear motion step not exceeding 0.5 cm. In first intercostal position sensor is brought up to front axillary line and in second and third intercostal positions, up to middle axillary line. Sensor motion and definite positions of patient make it possible to determine degree of implication of lug vessels and mediastinum structures into tumoral process, which is very important for selection of subsequent treatment tactics.
