FIELD: production of noble metals. SUBSTANCE: method for recovery of platinum metals from materials containing them includes zone electron-beam melting of initial raw materials based on iridium containing platinum, palladium, rhodium and ruthenium in the amount of 0,001-5 mas.% of each. Heat is carried out with holding in the liquid zone 800-900 s and speed of motion of the liquid zone of 2-4 mm/min with separation of sublimates of platinum metals in form of finely divided powder. Then, the powder is treated with solution of aqua regia during 8-10 cycles with cycle duration of 4 h at the temperature of 90 C. Directly after this procedure, selective separation of platinum metals is accomplished from aqua regia solutions. EFFECT: higher degree of recovery of platinum metals due to treatment with solution of aqua regia of preliminarily separated in melting and sublimation of platinoids and reduced irreversible losses and higher productivity of the process. 1 cl, 6 tbl
