FIELD: production of metals of platinum group. SUBSTANCE: iridium-containing raw materials are melted with flux and collecting agent, silicon being used as said collecting agent. Thus prepared melt is leached out by hydrochloric acid in the presence of oxidizer. Then chloride solution is evaporated and nitrated at 100-110 C to pH 5.0-5.5. The process is followed by separation and washing hydroxides and by separate precipitation ammonium-sodium nitrites. Mentioned above evaporation of chloride solutions is carried out to density 1.6-2.0 g/cm3. Extraction degree of iridium is up to 93-95 %. EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method. 4 cl, 1 tbl
