FIELD: mechanical engineering; hot chambers of nuclear power stations where used fuel assemblies are conveyed to recovery region by means of process equipment while tilting them. SUBSTANCE: tilter has moving truck mounted in cavity, can for receiving parts mounted on truck for turning by means of drive, and position-control sensors. Can turning drive is, essentially, plunger kinematically coupled with sleeve and mounted for displacement along sleeve. Plunger accommodates bearing support of screw mechanism screw. Screw mechanism sleeve are coupled with external drives; plunger is provided with supports mounted for tilting with can arranged on either side of its turning axis. EFFECT: enlarged force application length for can turning, eliminated vibrations of can during its tilting and stopping due to provision for its two supports spaced on either side of turning axis, that is, reduced dynamic loads on drive and simplified design of moving part of tilter. 3 dwg
