FIELD: adjustable-speed electric drives of machines and mechanisms, fixed-frequency AC generators driven by variable-speed prime mover. SUBSTANCE: multimachine electric set is built up of synchronous machine 1 and two unipolar machines 2 and 3 and has external stator with magnetic circuits, AC winding 7, and circular field windings 12, 16 of unipolar machine 2 and rotor with two sealed annular chambers 25, 26 on its periphery and shaft 20 mounted on bearing supports. Synchronous machine inductor is hollow conducting cylinder 10 rigidly coupled with armature of first unipolar machine 2 also made in the form of hollow conducting cylinder 13; inductor is provided with liquid-metal contacts 28 and is mounted for rotation in first sealed chamber 25 of rotor. Armature of second unipolar machine 3 is, essentially, third hollow ferromagnetic cylinder 18 with slots filled with nonmagnetic conducting material and facing stator bore; stator magnetic circuit of this unipolar machine 3 also has slots. Armature of second unipolar machine 3 is placed in second sealed chamber 26 and has liquid-metal contacts. Liquid-metal contacts of two unipolar machines are interclosed. Inductor of synchronous machine 1 is excited by working current flowing through armature of first unipolar machine 2. Torque is transmitted to rotor shaft of set from armature of both unipolar machines 2 and 3. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 10 cl, 4 dwg
