FIELD: cosmetics. SUBSTANCE: proposed composition has thioglycolic acid salt, water, alkaline agent or organic base and hydroxyl-containing organic compounds. Developed method of composition preparing ensures to separate thioglycolic acid salts and use composition directly for cosmetic compositions making, for example, composition for cold hair twisting and agents used for hair depilation. Method involves extraction of thioglycolic acid from acid reaction mass with ethers followed by extraction of thioglycolic acid salt from ethereal solution with water and/or hydroxyl-containing organic compounds and bases at pH 9, not below. EFFECT: enhanced quality of composition, improved method of preparing.
