FIELD: production of polyester resin. SUBSTANCE: saturated polyester resins are produced by polycondensation of phthalic anhydride and polyatomic alcohol in the presence of catalyst at 210-250 C. When temperature of reaction mass reaches 180 C distillation of reaction water and sublimating phthalic anhydride is stared using the following procedure. Vapors from reactor are sucked through heat-insulated pipeline by vacuum (15-20 mm Hg) and bubbled through 5-20% aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide which is located in the apparatus cooled with water and connected with polycondensation reactor by means of heat-insulated pipeline. Phthalic anhydride reacts with sodium hydroxide and passes into solution in form of sodium phthalate. Solution in neutralizer is treated with sulfuric acid and directed for biological treatment. Melt of produced polyester resin is poured into containers. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
