FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention describes method of synthesis of γ-polyoxymethylene by polymerization of formaldehyde derivative in solvent medium in the presence of methanol and catalyst followed by alkaline stabilization and product isolation. Trioxane is used as formaldehyde derivative, cyclohexane is used as a solvent and 7-12% solution of sulfuric anhydride in sulfuric acid is used as a catalyst. Process is carried out at concentration of trioxane 3.4-4.4 mole/γ, mass part of methanol 4-6% of trioxane mass and 7-12% of catalyst of trioxane mass.
