FIELD: production of synthetic rubber. SUBSTANCE: desired rubber containing isoprene units are prepared by heating of polymer in organic solvent. The process is carried out in the presence of cation active catalyst, compound having formula C6H3(R)(OH)(SO3H) where R is C4-C12 alkyl is used as said catalyst. Quantity of said catalyst is 1-20 mass % as calculated for polymer. EFFECT: improves quality of desired product. 3 tbl
