FIELD: rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: objective of invention is to provide catalyst allowing production of low-colored cyclopolyisoprene with good film-forming properties. Such catalyst is based on titanium tetrachloride and electron- accepting compound reacting with titanium tetrachloride and/or forming chelate complex with the latter. Electron- accepting compound is one selected from a certain group. Preferably, those electron-accepting compounds are used, which are soluble in organic solvents used in polyisoprene cyclization process. Titanium tetrachloride/electron- accepting compound complex is prepared preliminarily at 0 to 80 C for 1 to 60 min or directly in solution of polyisoprene to be cyclized, preferably at molar ratio of electron-accepting compound to titanium between 0.1:1 and 0.4:1.
