FIELD: oil industry. SUBSTANCE: invention is good fr geochemical exposure of oil-bearing capability of pools in sections of search-prospecting and production wells. Samples of core or slurry of rocks are selected with referencing to depth. They are examined by method of electron paramagnetic resonance. Content of bivalent manganese contained in crystals of minerals with cubic symmetry is found. Content of common manganese is determined in same samples by method of X-ray structural fluorescent analysis. Value R of ratio of content of bivalent manganese to content of common manganese is found. Intervals of depths corresponding to samples with 0.01 <R <1:0 are recommended for tests in well to produce inflow of oil or gas. EFFECT: improved efficiency of method. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
