FIELD: laser equipment. SUBSTANCE: pulse gas lasers with lateral discharge relate, in particular, to transverse-excitation atmospheric pressure CO2 lasers. Proposed pulse gas laser includes optical resonator, discharge chamber with key lateral electrodes, preionization and pumping systems. Pumping system is manufactured in the form of two parallel electrodes mounted outside of main discharge gap along key electrodes. Transverse circulation of gas mixture through main discharge gap emerges with ignition nonforming electrodes of pumping system which provides for possibility of increase of pulse repetition frequency up to few tens-hundreds Hz without usage of any mechanical means of pumping of gas mixture. Corona-nonforming electrode is made in the form of gauze with cells of unspecified shape and filling factor 0.1-0.5. Corona-forming electrode may be fabricated in the form of one or several parallel wires or in the form of one or several combs made of metal noses placed in parallel. Distances between wires, combs and metal noses in combs are chosen from certain relationship. EFFECT: enhanced operational efficiency. 7 cl, 4 dwg
