FIELD: quantum electronics; transverse discharge gas lasers for scientific research, medicine, and laser engineering. SUBSTANCE; laser working chamber accommodates electrodes, pre- ionization means, revolving shaft, and heat-transfer apparatuses. Novelty is that central electrode rotates between fixed electrodes and in the process forms, together with fixed electrodes, discharge gaps wherein main discharge is excited. Central electrode is provided with blades ensuring circulation of gas mixture and at the same time functions to excite auxiliary discharge between blade edge and special fixed pre-ionizing electrode. Passive spark gap with contacts installed in separate chamber rotates in step with central electrode near additional fixed electrodes which ensures circuit switching when they approach each other.
