FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves alkylation of phenol with technical C4-hydrocarbon fraction containing 0.1-1.0 wt.-% coupled dienes. Catalyst: mixture containing 85-90 wt.-% tetraphenoxyaluminic acid and 10-15 wt.-% its ammonium salt - ammonium tetraphenoxyaluminate. The end product, 2,6-di-tert.-butylphenol, is synthesized after phenol alkylation with lower olefins. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
