FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of treatment of isobutylene-containing fraction from nitrogen-containing impurities, in part, to field of preparing C4--isobutylene-containing fractions used as phenol alkylating agents in the presence of aluminium-containing catalyst that can be used in petroleum chemical industry. Method involves stabilization of composition of the parent isobutylene-containing fraction with its simultaneous purification from butenes-2. Then stabilized fraction is subjected for heteroazeotropic rectification with removal of nitrogen-containing impurities by phlegm flow and these impurities are washed out with water in the mass ratio isobutylene-containing fraction : water = (10-15): 1 followed by feeding the washed out phlegm in column of heteroazeotropic rectification for distillation reflux. Isobutylene-containing fraction is used for ortho-alkylation of phenol, among them, for purification from impurities, for example, butene-2.
