FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: rubber and plastics stabilizers and curers, in particular space-hindered bis-phenols having general formula 
, in which R' represents hydrogen, alkyl, or benzyl; R" and R"', identical or different, represent methyl or butyl, are prepared by realkylation of alkylphenol mixture, in particular wastes obtained from production of 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol (rectification stage) or from production of 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methulphenol (methanol recovery stage). Alkylation agent is fraction from 2,6-di-tert- butylphenol isolation stage (20-50% of the total weight of alkylphenol waste) containing 45.0-60.02% tert-butylphenol and 15.0-25.0% 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol (the rest being phenol). Alkylation is followed by condensation by lower aldehydes or aldehyde precursors in presence of arenesulfonic acid at 70-140 C. EFFECT: enabled utilization of synthesis wastes. 2 cl, 16 ex
