FIELD: petroleum processing, chemical, and food industries. SUBSTANCE: column consists of body enclosing plates arranged on different levels and containing contact appliances preferably of bubbling-type. These are positioned in such a way that their geometric axes are displaced in respect to those of contact appliances on adjacent levels by a value exceeding interlevel distance, and their outline sizes are chosen on condition that their edges do not touch each other when projected on common plane. Bubbling barriers in each contact appliance may be placed below bases of plates. They are made in the form of two included one into other figures with closed outlines between which there is an opening in the plate base. Bubbling barriers are included from below in a case forming a space with lower and side walls which follow outlines of outer and inner bubbling barriers, respectively. On the side most distanced from the nearest below- positioned contact appliance, in upper part of the case side walls, there is a cut in each wall, and below, from opposite side in outer case wall there is one more cut which is enclosed in a groove and pneumatically connected, by means of a drain pipe through opening in base of lower-positioned plate, with space of the nearest contact appliance case. Inner bubbling barrier of each contact appliance may have the form of a mobile bell. Proposed design permits the height of the upright-type classical rectification column to be diminished to value 2.5-4.5 v, that is, by a factor of 3-5.
