SUBSTANCE: claimed invention makes it possible to reduce energy requirements for process for cleaning hydrocarbon gases from acid components due to increasing thermal stability and reducing corrosion activity of alkanol amine solutions, thus making it possible to increase the concentration of the alkanol amine solution used and to increase the degree of saturation with acid gases to 0.6-1.0 wt%. The claimed process is carried out by contacting the gas with alkanol amine solutions in the presence of sulfides and/or polysulfides of alkanol amines treated with inorganic sulfides and/or polysulfides. the inorganic sulfides and/or polysulfides include sulfides and/or polysulfides of alkali, alkaline-earth metals, metals of subgroup of copper and zinc, ammonium and phosphorus. Inorganic sulfides and/or polysulfides are added to sulfides or polysulfides of alkanol amines in 1: 100-1: 1 ratio.
