FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: magnesium hydroxide is prepared from waste of magnesium-containing raw materials. For this purpose, magnesium hydroxide is precipitated from magnesium nitrate solution with ammonium hydroxide in presence of urea at stirrer rotation speed 270 r/min and duration of ammonium hydroxide addition at least 20 min, urea concentration being not greater than 5 wt %.
