FIELD: estimation of quality of goethites designed for production of ferrooxide pigments according to the data of thermoanalysis. SUBSTANCE: for estimation of the quality of goethites a thermoanalytical investigation of samples of starting raw material is carried out by heating the sample, recording of thermal curves, determination of the quantity of loss of the mass in two temperature intervals with a subsequent calculation of mass loss factor K according to the ratio of the quantities of mass loss in these intervals, the quality of the starting raw material is judged by the value of the mass loss factor. The method provides for distinction of goethites into the crude groups (according to the grades) in the initial stages of geological survey. EFFECT: reduced time of determination of the quality of the goethites, recommended temperature conditions of their processing, predicted quality of the finished product. 3 dwg
